Privacy Policy

We collect the information you give us and information generated when you use the service:

• Account details: your email address and password (stored in hashed form). If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account identifier, email address and name.
• Profile information: your name, gender, date of birth, city and country, approximate location, religion, marital status, children, occupation, education, height, body type, lifestyle preferences, the age range you are looking for and your profile description.
• Photos you upload to your profile.
• Messages you send and receive through the service.
• Activity: profiles you visit, favorite, block or report, when you were last active, and your notification settings.
• Device information: push notification tokens and basic device details used to deliver notifications.
• Subscription information: whether you have a paid membership and when it is paid until.
• Account removal feedback: the reason you give when you delete your account.

Some profile details, such as your religion, can reveal sensitive information about you. You choose to share them so other members can find people who share their values, and you can edit them at any time.

• To create and run your account and show your profile to other members.
• To suggest matches and let you search members by age, location and other preferences.
• To deliver messages and send the email and push notifications you have turned on.
• To keep the community safe: reviewing reports, moderating photos and preventing fraud and abuse.
• To send essential service emails, such as account activation and password resets.
• To understand how the service is used and improve it.
• To meet our legal obligations.

Your profile, including your photos, first name, age, city, country and the profile details you fill in, is visible to other logged-in members. Your email address, password, exact location and last name are never shown to other members.

When you visit or favorite a profile, that member may be notified. Members you block can no longer see your profile or message you.

We do not sell your personal information. We only share it with:

• Service providers who help us run the service, such as hosting, file storage, email delivery and push notifications. They may only use your information to provide their services to us.
• Sign-in providers such as Google, when you choose to sign in with them.
• Authorities, when the law requires it or to protect the safety of our members.

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile is removed from the service and no longer visible to other members. We may keep limited records for a period afterwards where needed to resolve disputes, prevent abuse (for example, of banned accounts) or meet legal requirements.

You can:

• View and edit your profile and photos at any time.
• Turn email and push notifications on or off in your settings.
• Block and report members.
• Delete your account from your settings.

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, export or erase your personal information, or to object to how we use it. To make a request, send us a message through our contact page.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including hashed passwords and encrypted connections. No online service is completely secure, so please use a strong password and never share it.

Pan African Dating is only for adults aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor is using the service, please report the profile or contact us.

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will let you know by email or through the service. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
